Skye Riders and Camp Skye were the vision of Brenda Bowden Barber (1951-2017), a retired school teacher with a love of children and horses. Brenda believed in the healing power of horses and the positive effects that they have on children of all ages

Brenda was dedicated to Skye (her beloved horse) and Gaston Farm Rd Equestrian Center. She was an avid rider involved in horse shows, 4H, and summer camps, spreading her infectious joy and love of horses to everyone she met
Brenda left us too soon, before her dream of bringing children and horses together could be created. Her husband Bob, Skye, and Strides of Strength want to fulfill her vision and ensure that her legacy will live on through our programs and services.
